Default 2004 Cobra 642 RWHP video

This is a car we did a few months ago. Our customer decided he wanted a complete race gas tune so I turned it up a bit. Old numbers were 600 rwhp.

2004 Cobra
Comp Cams
FORD Racing Whipple Supercharger (14psi)
Kooks Headers with Catted x-pipe
G-Force SCT dyno tune
VP MS 109 (103 octane) race fuel

642 RWHP
588 RWTQ from 2000-5800 rpms

G-Force yea we do Mustangs too...

Cobra dyno

figured it woulda been pushing alot more boost that 14psi to make 650rwhp, most cars need 20 pounds to hit that number, any idea on the cam specs? is the ford racing whipple just a 2.3L whipple? Nice numbers and nice car

guess not, I was just going on numbers Ive seen over at svtperformance.com. 14psi and 650rwhp is pretty damn efficient compared to other numbers ive seen.

You also have to consider that he is running race fuel so the timing is probably 23* if not more.

True, I can't imagine that thing on 20+ pounds. Might be the 1st non sprayed 700rwhp terminator ive seen with the early model twin screws.

LOL.

The street tune is 16 deg of timing. And the race fuel was only 20 deg of timing. You must understand how race fuel burns and what A/F ratios are safe with race fuel. You dont just throw tons of timing at it. Thats how heads gaskets are blown and motors get destroyed.

Let me know if you need any parts or installs. My FORD tech Jonthan is a wizard on the 4.6 stuff. He was Houston Performance's main installer for years.
