Default Putting the Carr on the lemon list

Bye Bye Ryan Leaf v2.2

The Texans are making some strong off season moves. This one may be the best one.

Only time will tell on that one.

1 of 2 things is now going to happen....

1. Carr is finally going to be the superstar that everyone wanted him to be because of the pressure...

or

2. He is going to blow *** this year, get traded, and win a Super Bowl with another team.... tis the Houston way.

If he blows *** it won't be in houston, his *** is getting traded or released. I like the deal, essentially only giving up a 2nd this year and next. Yea we moved down 2 spots in the 1st this year but we are still going to get an impact player. Hopefully a secondary player.

I don't think any QB will perform well behind that line. I know after a hot start he began turning it over like the post-collapse Kurt Warner, but I still have doubts that all the blame should be on him.

Not really. I'd rather have him win games for another team than continue losing games for us.

Rumor has it the o-line opened up a big can of quit of Carr. Schaub is supposed to be really good (many feel he's a better QB than Vick), so maybe they'll protect better. Either way, we don't have very good athletes at the line position, so quit or not, we need better athletes.

I like the move.

They are giving up too much for an unproven guy, this guy had 2 NFL starts and they were both losses.

I'd rather see them give up this much for an unproven NFL player than an unproven college player.

Schaub has less NFL experience than Carr, so you could put the same label on him.

Not really a David Carr fan but I've been to my fair share of games and if they don't give this new guy an o-line that can block longer than 'two mississippi' then he will not do very well either.

Did no one learn from Grossman last year?

When he has protection and open WRs, he can make plays.
When he does not, he throws for -3 yards and Devin Hester has to win the game.

Is Carr any different? He needs protection. And we do not have a Hester to win us games. Let us not forget the 3 or so weeks last season when Carr <with protection and more than one WR to throw to> was the most efficient QB in the league.

To be honest, I am from Dallas and do not really care what happens to the Texans; they are more entertaining to me as a constant underdog, but I do not think a lot of people do not give Carr a fair shake, even after some really good play last year.

I've never blamed Carr for the poor seasons, I think he has proven his toughness and can put some nice plays together when he has time. Our O-line just sucks ***. We actually would have a pretty good running game too if the O-line were better. Our running backs aren't crap, they just do not have holes to run through.

I still think passing on Reggie Bush was pretty retarded, especially for Mario.

should of drafted Vince Young since the Texans are giving up another draft pick.

Or could of drafted Reggie Bush since the Texans starting running back was hurt most of last season.

The Texans cold of had the offensive and defensive Rookie of the Year

I have been saying this for years. I think Carr is a great QB, and has one hell of a cannon for an arm (its no laser rocket of an arm like Peyton). The only thing is, you have to give the guy some time in the pocket so his receivers can actually make it down the field.

John Elway holds the record for most times being sacked..... 516 times in 16 seasons.

Carr at present time has been sacked 249 times. Thats 5 seasons!!!!! If thats not the O'lines fault.... I dont know what is. AND he holds the single season record for most times sacked.... 76 times. At 16 games per season, thats nearly 5 sacks a game.

He will go to another team and see what a REAL O-line should be! Build his confidence back up knowing he can look around with out getting sacked and impress allot of people.. The dude is good and anyone that can take that many sacks is a Hass in my book!

I just heard that in Carr's 5 year career he has been sacked almost 250 times. That is insane, the guy may have had something in college but thanks to the O-Line he is as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rockin chairs.

What about a long tail cat in a room full of space heaters?
