Eric's passing is a huge blow to the racing world, he is/was one of the biggest ambassadors of NHRA and a true champion in the making. He worked his way up from the bottom of JFR to being a 6x race winner. Simply devistating to lose Eric, and God bless him, his father John, and the rest of the Medlen family.

What makes it even sadder is I think I just saw on ESPN that after the emergency brain surgery, they induced a coma on him to help him in healing. Then something happened and the family decided to 'switch off' the equipment (if what I heard is right....). Man - I hope to God that I don't ever have to be in a position to have to make that kind of decision. But, I'm sure they did what was best for him. Funny Car just ain't gonna be the same without him - I hope John Force can deal with it (and his little girl).

One of our students Crews for Medlen. He called me that night after the crash, but this is awful to hear and find out about. Huge blow to the team as he was a great driver! Rest in Peace!
