Default Cragar 17" chrome wheels for sale...

I have my 4 Chrome Cragar wheels and tires for sale/trade. They include:

2x nearly new (mounted) Sumitomo HTR45Z (245/45/17)
2x used but usable (mounted) Dunlop SP Sport 8000's in the rear (275/40/17).
2x new (unmounted/unusued) Sumitomo HTR45Z (245/45/17).

They are 17x8 and are pretty close to flawless. No curbs. No peeling or flaking of the chrome. They have spent the better part of the last year in my garage along with my car.

I'm asking $900 obo plus shipping for the full set including all 6 tires.

Some things I would ACCEPT in partial trade:

LS6 ported oil pump
ASP underdrive pulley
misc other items useful in a head/cam swap.
a nice set of DR's
lighter (stock 5 spoke Z28, etc) wheels for 'track' use.
a linelock

Thanks!

you may want to change it to 275-40-17. a 20 series tire would be really low profile

How about a pic of those on the car? I've never seen an Fbody with these wheels, and to be honest I've always wanted a set of these but now that I see a real world picture they kinda look ugly, maybe it's just the light I dunno.

I hear ya, but the 275's DO fit on the 8" wheel. Unless you were gonna go with even wider tires, you dont really need 9". For street wheels, I dont see the point of going that wide. While they may look nicer and hook better, they are also heavier and will suck down extra gas even when you dont need the extra traction.

Anyway, just my 2 cents...

lmao. you dont see the point in going that wide? LOL. How much extra gas do you think it uses? We own v8s in which many of us mod and make our gas mileage even worse. So I highly doubt any of us care too much about the difference in mpg that our wheels will make. and true. 275s do fit 8" wheels, but they look like trash. What size wheels do you have now? Im hoping not anything over 8" bc you dont see the need. by the way. I would double check your price. Euclid sold a set of these a while ago 18x9 with near new tires for $1000.

not trying to bash your thread, but I saw this post, and I thought it was a ridiculous post and had to say something. It just seemed like you were trying your hardest to make the 17x8 wheels sound like it was a good thing.

For not trying to bash, you sure are doing a good job.

For a daily driver, there is nothing negative about 17x8 wheels. Yes, my camaro currently sits on 8" wide wheels. I'm going to have a different set of wheels for when I want to run at the track (15" MT ET Streets which will be going on *gasp* 8" wheels). If you like 9" wheels over the 8" wide wheels - then good for you.

I used to run the 18x9.5 C5 Z06 wheels on my old formula along with 275 tires on all 4 corners. What did those wheels give me that my 17x8's dont: Nothing except maybe some extra unsprung weight...oh yeah, and they were more expensive.

I bought the car with the 275's on the 8" wheels on all 4 corners. Considering all the compliments I received on how well the wheels worked with the car, I guess they really DID look like trash.

Here are a few pics of my "trash":

Lastly, you are the first person to even mention that they think this combo is overpriced. Perhaps the person you referred to was in a hurry to sell? I dont think 6 tires (2 at 0 miles, and 2 nearly-new) plus 4 near mint chrome wheels for $1000 is bad at all - but I'm open to offers/trades.

Its all about looks. Noone wants to spend $1000 on some skinny wheels that will not make their car look much better. And no. The person that I referred to was not in a hurry to sell. It took him months to get rid of the wheels. Your wheels arent anything special IMO. They dont look agressive. They are skinny(even my 18x9.5 privat profils are too skinny*I hate them*).. And the tires are cheap. By the way. maybe noone as mentioned anything about the price bc its not good to bash peoples threads. I tend to try not to.. But you have been trying to sell these for a long time. And there is a reason they are not selling. by the way. Can we get some pics of the car from the direct back so we can see the 8in wide wheels??
aaahhh look at my old 11's. they KILLED my gas LOL

by the way.. for someone that preaches about saving gas bc of wheels. after looking at your fquick site... Looks like you scrapped these for some heavier wheels..

by the way.. back onto the tire situation. You said it came with a set of 275s when you got them? Were they those sumitomos that are now unmounted? If so. those tires are thin as hell. They arent actual 275s.

and 4 wheels/6 tires= good deal?
the front 2 tires are brand new. I'll give you that. but they are cheap.
The rears are "fairly well used".. Not sure what that means. You didnt take pics of the tread on those tires.
the other 2 are included but no reference to tread life made*prob not much left?

Either way. that looks to be about $250 worth of tires. tops.

Ok, smartass. 2 245's are BRAND NEW (as in they still have the shipping labels/tape on them). I dont know how to make that any more clear.
2 more 245's have about 1k miles on them - great tread.
and still 2 more are the 275's that came on the car and are fairly well used. THOSE have limited value to them, so they really aren't reflected in the price IMO.

I didn't say I was trying to save gas. In fact, I have posted on this or other sites that I hope the price of gas goes up so people will change their driving habits. However, wheel for wheel an 8" wheel and tire combo is gonna be lighter and thus use less gas. Yeah, I got some heavier wheels (which are 19's). I also bought some welds to use at the track since the 19's absolutely suck for traction. I don't street race - most mature people dont - so what's the point of rolling on super wide rear tires on the street?

BTW, TT2's look like crap IMO. That huge center "hat" and the fact they are polished instead of chrome makes them look bad. The prior owner was using TT2's for awhile but returned them when he saw how much weight had to be added to get them to balance. The new TT "M" looks better. In the back, they have a good "lip" but the fronts look like *gasp* cragars. LOL!

As far as "how long I've been selling" goes...I haven't exactly been proactive in that regard. In fact, I'm only now lowering the price. I have them advertized here and on the SA forum. That's it. Not exactly a large audience.

Thanks for your comments. I'm sure they will help my wheels sell.
