Default SS Spoiler Extension?

Well as some of you may know I have been looking at getting an SS spoiler for my 2000 Z28. Well I went to the body shop today and they told me that they could get me a spoiler and paint it and do everything. Well they said in order for it to fit right I would have to get 1/4 panel extensions that cost $400 each. Now I have never heard of this and I personally thought this was quite outrageous and it just felt like they were trying to rip me off. What are yalls thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Lauren

That's what I said...but they kept telling me that I would need to get the extension or else the spoiler would not "flow" right. He was trying to show me pictures of what he was talking about...and they were of T/A SPOILERS, not CAMARO spoilers.

I am with everyone else. Go somewhere else. They are either idiots or thinking that you are just an average girl that knows nothing and they can get over on you easily. Dont buy into it!!

Yeah, the guy was kinda giving me that vibe...but I also think that he didn't know what the hell he was talking about...He kept referring to the SS Spoiler as "the Z28 spoiler with the upwards curve on it"...and I would say, yes but it's called an SS spoiler, and he would say no, it's the spoiler with the curve on it.

I should have known they were all idiots when this kid who worked there told me he had the exact same car as me that was wrecked as well. Well low and behold he shows it to me and its a 1994 V6 camaro, nothing like mine. They also found it funny that they know absolutely nothing about their cars and they just drove them. To me that is sign of stupidity and also shows that they dont give a **** about their cars, so why would i want them even touching mine.

Like said above, go check out Lane's. I think he only works on insurance cars so it might work out for you perfectly! His wife posts on here, they are in Pearland.

I see what he's talking about now. The RS ground effects package on the Z28's have spoiler side extensions that are mounted on the quarter panels, the SS spoilers don't have them. I just sold my SS spoiler because I didn't want to take the RS extensions off, fill the holes and have the rear repainted just to put an SS spoiler on it.
