Default Speeding ticket in Frisco?

I got a speeding ticket in Frisco(Collin county) this morning. It was for 70 in a 40. It was only a short blast. Actually I ran it up to 90 and back down but that's what he wrote me up for. He could have really nailed me.

Do you guys think I have any option but to pay it? I don't think I can get deferred at 30 over. I had a spotless driving record though.

I think it's 24 or less you get deferred or take driver safety course. As of now, you pay the ticket or fight it. Or, not pay and then have a warrant out for your arrest .

If he actually clocked you going 90ish, you may just want to cut your losses and pay the fine. If you took it to court, he may remember you, tell the judge about going even faster and then get dinged even worse.

i say fight it, get one of those cheap lawyers, and it'll likely get dismissed. even if the cop shows up, you're still only gonna have to pay for the 70 in a 40. they can't bring up the 90 if it wasn't charged.

The ticket says he paced me, not radar. He was way back there though. Yeah, I'm not taking it to court so I'm probably stuck with it.

Just in case anybody wanted to know, I went to see the judge and he gave me 120 days Deferred Adjudication. The total cost was $248. Not too bad.
