I was in the same boat a couple of months ago. I was thinking of going to Jack because he has done a couple of motors for me in the past. I asked the same question on here and everyone said Eric @ HKE. So that is who I went with. I just got my motor back last friday and could not be more pleased. Eric is a great guy and a terrific builder. He built my long block for a great price. Now it took him a while to do my motor but in his defense he did have to order some things to get it all done right. Next motor I build will be going to him also. The phone # 713 722-7000. Sometimes it is hard to get ahold of him. Around 11 or 12 is the best time I have found to talk to him.

the guy works 16 hour days.... with only a couple of guys to help him. He has so much work it is hard to keep up. Quality is his #1 priority.
My 408 shortblock was just completed by him.

Well i called Eric from HKE and he said he does not usually do work for individuals. I take that as he doesn't want to mess with it. He sounded busy as hell talked to me for like one min.

We have an in house machine shop as well as a complete installation facility. We can do things as simple as turning a crank to building complete long blocks. Feel free to give us a call or email and we'll be glad to help!!

I went ahead and left the motor at jacks, he is going to hook me up. I did not know he was going through surgeries and stuff like that. But the ball is rolling now and it should be ready to roll here pretty soon. Thanks Jack.
