i know nothing about it but im going to switch a small car from red to a really dark blue almost black and want it done right...im considering stripping it to the bone and having it blasted and repainted completely...
i want the engine bay black with a low gloss clear...

a whole car is going to be easier/better to bring to someone to get done. doing it yourself with a portable blaster would take forever as they are generally meant for blasting parts. i dont know of a placeup where you are but a friend of mine just got his car media blasted and epoxy coated for $1300 which is a pretty good price i would say.

yea i hear soda blasting is what i need...wont hurt metal/glass/rubber....
i relaly need a hood/hatch done/door jams/hatch jams...the rest of the car was DA'ed by the previous owner...the trans tunnel is still red and so is under the carpet but i think ti save the money im going to get some black paint and just paint those areas...so now that i think about it its just a few pieces...hoping it wouldent cost alot..
car is bare metal now, arent you supposed to seal it with a sealer before primer?

Yeah you don't want to have the body sand blasted or aluminm oxide blasted. You're better off going to somebody who can plastic media blast. I've go a phone number over at the shop of a place in Irving who can do it for you, I can give it to you tomorrow if you like. Your second alternative is to get the car chemically stripped over at Metal Rehab.

no....looking into it now, i thin kim only going to have the hood/headlight covers/hatch/fenders blasted...think im going to smoothe out and sand down the jams and paint them with the car...really i dont wannt break all the clips holding on the wiring and remove the master/heater core/dash/ worry about transportaion/then spend 1000 to have it blasted and sealer sprayed on
