I went to an OBD II seminar a few weeks ago. New software is being finshed that will read the tune on your computer, and if that tune is not an OEM tune for your car and year, it will reset that tune back to the OEM settings.
SO for ppl that live in areas that vehicals need yearly inspections. Keep a copy of your tune on a disk or with your tunner.
Now I dont know if this is BS or not, but I would not be supprised

i say BS. there are so many little varyances (sp) in all different cars from the same years. i gaurentee they cant read the tunes in every single OB2 car. no way in hell. they cant tell weather GM flashed it, HPT flashed it, ect. not buying into this one bit. now the O2 is possible to see if the voltages are constantly switching but thats about it i think. i could be wrong though i am not an expert, this is just want i think.

There was no legal judgement handed down here. This was simply a settlement. Casper's agreed to terms and conditions that the DoJ/EPA laid out, rather than fight a legal battle.
What makes more economic sense for your business- paying $20k/yr "go away" money to the feds for 4 years, and buying back some simms, or getting run through the best legal system money can buy against the deepest pockets around?
