78 in a 60...****!
I have never had any issues or an "axe to grind" with police...until today.
I was on my way home from school this morning and a cop shooting laser gets me just as I’m passing a dump truck full of gravel.
this guy walks up to the window and doest say anything but "license and insurance, i got you with laser going 78, it was with my laser gun so I know that’s how fast you were going." then he leaves and comes back with my ticket. he then proceeds to tell me that radar detectors are a waste and that he saw me try to slow down and trick him or some crap...
...so I politely told him that I have taken college physics and that I am well aware of how a laser instantly reads your speed, but a radar detector is able to "capture” deflected radar that have bounced off other cars and have hit my car indirectly, there for it is still a viable way to avoid speeding tickets.(in not so many words)
My question is how much will this bitch cost? This is my first ticket.

Defensive Driving and Deferred Adjudication are once a year things, doing these keep it off your record, therefore insurance won't go up.
DA = Probation for 3/6/whatever months (depends on the judge) and if no tickets in that time frame, it stays off your record. If you do get another ticket, both go on your record. I opted for this option only because I already did DD this year. My court date is in Feb. just to talk to the judge about DA.

your fine, just do defensive driving or deferred adjudication to keep the ticket off your record. Just let the court know what you are doing.
It's when your goin 25 or more over the speed limit that you can get screwed

Nope, I took that option 3 times in one year two years ago when I 1st got my Z. peice of cake, cause everytime I was on the probation the car was in the shop for go fast goodies and I took my merry sweet time getting it back on the road..
