I went to autozone and the guy told me he THOUGHT the car needed three, one up by the manifold, and two after the cats.

you need 2 up front

the rear 2 are just to check to see if your cats are working

Two Before The Cats And Two After The Cats So It Needs 4,unless You Have Off Road Y-pipe Then You Need To Have A Tune So That You Can Shut Off The Rear O2

2 up front are mandatory. two rears can and should be simulated.

you can run without the back 2

you absolutely must have the front o2 sensors

sims are simulators, they plug into the rear O2 spots and tell the computer that the cats are working fine so you don't through a SES light. you can also get them tuned out

Sims are simply a device with an 02 sensor plug in it that sends a steady voltage signal to the pcm in a range that keeps the check engine light from triggering. These can only be used on the rear O2 sensors aft of the converters on each side, their inputs only check against those of the fronts, if a noticeable variance between the two is found by the pcm, the ses light is triggered. The fronts control air fuel ratio and are not to be removed or altered. Removing your cats almost always triggers the ses light, and that is why sims are commonly used when the cats are removed.

As for your problem, I would first start by listing the specific codes you are getting by scanning your car. You probably need to deal with your rear O2's throwing codes rather than buy sensors.

ok thats cool. So what do yall recommend for the two 02s?
The sims can be bought online too? any sites yall recommend?

I will have to go to a mechanic to check the codes, a while ago a shop checked them, and he removed the code, but then it came back on in a few days, then it went away, then it came back on. I will go buy firestone have them check it out

THANKS!
