Thumbs up I'm back into a diesel truck again

Over the last few weeks I've been casually looking around for another diesel truck. I've enjoyed the pimp factor of the Escalade, but after driving diesel trucks since 2003, I missed the torque and power of a turbo diesel. The Escalade was quick-ish, I installed a catback system and a cold air intake on it a month ago. That woke it up, but the thing just lacked throttle response and torque.

So, I traded it in last night on another diesel. Since I bought the Caddy right, I only ended up losing about 5K total on it over the course of 10 months. Thats less than what it would have cost me to make $1200/mo payments on it.

Here is the replacement, nearly as nice as the '07 Escalade on the inside, but more useful and tougher on the outside.

2008 Silverado HD 2500, 4x4 Z71 package, LTZ trim level, Duramax diesel with Allison 6-spd auto, Navigation and DVD player, sunroof, power rear sliding window, integrated trailer brake controller. Basically every option available. I purchased it at John Keating Chevrolet, in Crosby TX. They were a very friendly group and gave me an excellent deal on it and the trade. I'd highly reocommend them if you are truck shopping, they have tons of trucks.

The interior of the new chevys are very comfortable. The only thing i dont like is the exhaust tips but i imagine you will take care of that pretty quickly. Good looking truck.

Congrats on the new pimpe ride. Badass truck for sure. What ever plans you have don't lift it too high because you won't be able to fit into the garage at work. I may be looking to sell my truck here soon.

Very nice Tony. I was buying that same truck, but I wasnt set on the looks. I bought a 07 Classic 4x4 Duramax Loaded for 20K cheaper than the 08's.

But now I wish I would have just bit the bullet and got the new one. We installed the Magnaflow filter back exhaust on our buddys truck last week. The tip is 5" and looks great.

Hey Mike, this truck has an identical twin sister at the dealership. Both were custom ordered and the buyer didn't pick them up. They sold it to me for invoice minus rebates.

Good looking truck!

I was looking at the same truck but in Silver when I bought my Avalanche. I missed having an HD and really wanted a diesel but I just liked the way the Avalanche drove so much more I ended up with it.
