Default 10 bolt said BOOM

Well two days on drag radial and it was bye bye 10 bolt. Pics will speak for themselves. I took it out by myself. pretty easy job. First time ever doing any of that stuff. Putting the new in tomorrow (thanks Santana) The car was surging like crazy. I thought I had a bad sensor but I had a hunch it was the rear. Took off out a parking lot and punched the throttle. It went BOOM. And that was all she wrote.
Here are the Pics.

Yes that is a hole in the housing. I have the piece that broke off.

Good kill.

While you're killing the new 10-bolt, start saving up for something beefier.

M6 car with full bolt-ons. Ive seen some blown rear ends but those pics take the cake. If you need a cover Will you can borrow my new one until I can get Jason to install my new gears.

Its a gamble my 99 a4 was full bolt on with drag radials and I couldn't break my 10 bolt if I tried. I would launch so hard you could almost tell that it would break any second but mine never gave out. Some people have ran in the 10's on their 10 bolt with drags. It all comes down to rather you have a good or bad rear.

Most A4 guys don't break their 10 bolt, it depends alot more on the tranny than whether someone got a dud.
