FS: 1973 Harley Sportster Project
SOLD!!
As much as I would like to build this project the way I envisioned it, I would much rather buy a house so I would like to sell it.
1973 HD Sportster. The guy I bought it from said the engine has recently been gone thru & it ran fine. He started taking it apart & had the same plan I did which was to buy a rolling chassis & build a custom bike with it. Flyrite Choppers out of Austin has a frame made for this year motor & trans to make a rigid chopper for a nice price. I tracked down a matching mag for the rear to match the front mag....I was going to powder coat them all black so I wouldn't have to deal with issues with spokes. I don't know much about bikes myself, I am just getting into them. I did buy a brand new manual for it from HD, about a $100 or so book if I recall that will come with it as well, it has all the info needed to work on the bike including wiring schematics & everything. The bike has a title but I never transferred it to my name since I never got the bike running.
I'm asking $1,600 OBO for it, the extra rear mag, and the HD Manual
Here's a pic of the rolling chassis from Flyrite Choppers. They sell for about $2550 & with my bike & this roller, you could build a pretty nice bike on the cheap.
