I got HOSED
I bought my 99 SS convertible with 64000 CarFax confirmed miles with out a single bolt on in June. That’s right I thought I got an all original gem. It needed a few things fixed (because it had not seen real use in 2 years), but that was part of the charm and the deal.
Well, I finally got around to doing some major work on it this weekend and realized its not the original engine, it was a remanufactured job from Jasper engines. I called and learned it was even still under warranty when I bought it! Of course the guy I bought it from did not even mention this nugget of knowledge. Now my collectible is, well, not.
The one positive is the engine only has 15k on it. What do y’all think?

Not having the original engine isn't a big deal now. It is for a late 60's muscle car but not these cars. Everything on the car isn't VIN coded like it used to be. If it's got a new engine, there's probably a good reason. If the rest of the car is tip-top and it runs good, I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your car lost "collectibility" status as soon as it passed 10K miles on the odometer. Now it is just a cool enthusiast car, but a true collector wouldn't be interested in it due to mileage. Also, if that is an automatic tranny, it is worth even less to a collector.
Just enjoy it, let someone else worry about restoring it later on.
