corvette owners inside..!
I have a stock 07 c6, last night i raced a c5 z06 2 times. Once from a roll, pulled on him hard! Then we got caught at a light and we stayed side by side through 1st, then i started pulling on him like crazy after i got into 2nd...he had exhuast, not sure about other mods...arent these cars very comparable hp wise? I never would have guessed my stock c6 would pull on a c5 z06 like that?? Could have been driver issues, but it was pretty ugly..any experiences??

Are you in an A6 or MN6? Z51? In stock form the C5Z only has a 5 HP difference on paper, but everyone knows actual dyno numbers vary from car to car.
But it takes more than HP to win a race. My C6 A6 definitely feels faster than my C5Z did, but that's probalby because in sport mode the computer can shift it a heck of a lot faster than I could. From a stop, by the time the C5Z hooked in first (if on stock tires), I'd already be in second gear. From a roll, there's an advantage to the C5Z because the paddle shifts (at least in the 2006 model) aren't as fast. Still faster than a stick depending on the driver, though.
Either way, a C5Z against an LS2 C6 will be a close call if both are stock with a slight advantage going to the Z.

I think a lot of it has to do with the driver. All i have on my c5 is an x-pipe, no cats, and a shaner throttle body (m6) and I beat two c6's ln the same night about 2 weeks ago. The first one even jumped on me and i reeled him in and put a few cars on him. I dont think I could have done that had it been someone that could drive well in the c6.

i was curiousa bout this too. We got rid of our 03 z06 for an 07 c6. the z06 was stock and the c6 has a borla catback and a vararam SC1 intake...the intake really woke the car up though. I think the c6's rides alot smoother tho vs the c5z06.
