Just how fast do you want to go???

For what it is, the price is about right. There is an enormous amount of labor in an engine like that, not to mention the parts.
ET canted valve heads
TI rods
Custom built sheetmetal intake
custom crank
etc,etc
I have always said you can get 90% of the power for 50% of the money, that last 10% is what really cost big $$$$$$.

Price the parts in that engine and you will feel the pain in your wallet. Engines like that aren't your typical LS1 build. Even shops like SAM and Six Speeds Inc spend a fortune on their all-motor builds. I believe Joe at Six Speeds told me he had $6,000 in just the valvetrain of his latest engine (cam, lifters, pushrods, valves, rockers)

I agree completely with the statement above.
Me personally, I would rather have 3-4 600-700hp 400+ci LSX's laying around
To each their own though...

Nope no way I would spend that kind of money on a motor. Put in a car to handle that power
$20k car
$5k Trans
$ odds & ends 5k
Motor 37k
Labor to tune & install $5k
$75,000 for a car that might run some mid to low5s. OUCH! I really don't want to go that fast that bad.
not to mention how long will it last.

Might want to look in the lost and found for that sense of humor your missing. Its probably setting next to my left handed adjustable wrench.
