Default Looking for an apartment.

Looking for something around west or northwest houston. Around $400 a month. Studio or one bedroom only. SAFE. SAFE. SAFE. I don't know anything about the area, and I've tried all the internet sites but don't get much good info.

My friend has an apartment over in La Porte. He pays like $1000 a month. It's a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom. They are pretty nice. I plan on looking for an apartment in that area pretty soon also. I'm having thoughts about moving over into the La Porte/Deer Park/Pasadena area. If I see anything online in the area your looking for an apartment in, I'll let ya know something.

Thanks guys. My mind boggles at the cost of living here, even still. A $400 studio or 1 BR back home is a very nice apartment in a very nice part of town, lol.

Yeah. I highly reccomend one of them big boxes. Like the ones that a fridge or stove come in. That way you can atleast fit two people of it comes down to it.

I actually have one of those 8 person tents. I could put it out under a bridge and charge bums a few bucks a night to stay there. Money maker for sure!

Yeah $400 wont get anything, yet I cannot image anywhere. Galleria area apartments go for atleast $525 for very small 1 bedrooms!

You won't find any for that price range in NW Houston unless you look near 290 and W. Tidwell and I for sure wouldn't live there! I lived off of 290 and Jones and paid $675 for a 1 bedroom, I would say that would be more what your range would be for any apartment.

You need to find a roommate in order to afford anything decent for that price.....for about $800 or more you can get a decent 2 b.r.

You think the cost of living is high here, go to NY or LA, lol.

Thats right. I have a friend that lives on the upper west side in Manhattan and pays $1400 a month for a 300 sq feet Studio. Only door is the bathroom door! The bed is one foot away from the couch!

There are several groups of older apartments off hwy 6 that are cheap and not that bad. You wont find $400 but you will find 500-600. I cant imagine a 400 a month complex in houston even coming close to being safe

Went up to 500. It's me and the girlfriend. We're leaving at the end of June. Can pay 3 of the 4 months up front. Possibly all 4. Short term type thing. I've been all over apartments.com and rent.com and had some "favorites" we will check out.
