Well, I work in the oil field and there is word that it might be at $150 a barrel by the end of 08 or possibly sooner.

Exclamation

OPEC is cutting down in May/08 I believe. We are paying more than you...I put some 91 octane in yesterday, just to see...I feel no difference...usually 93. 89 is too low though...I guess....I can afford it..I just HATE IT... BTW---we are paying over 4 bucks.

My like likes premium, and I get better mileage with premium, so it really evens out.

But this does suck..

Buying another car is going to help ease the pain at the pump how? You're throwing down a chunk of change for a car that you still have to put gas in.

thats what I tell everyone they say you should park that thing and get a daily driver....so park a 50,000 truck and get a 20,000 car that gets better gas milage. I love it that gas is going through the roof I just pass the bill on to the customer...

gas prices aren't related to dollar per barrel.

it is related to the rate in which you can process into oil on top of state and federal taxes.

So are you saying, lets say oil went to $150 a barrel and the rate in which you can process into oil stayed the same as of right now... that would mean that the price of gas should not go up, right??

just wondering?

I don't work in the oil field or anything close to that. I just dont get, I know if demand grows and they cut back on processing oil it will make gas prices go up but at the same time the price of an oil barrel must in some way effect the price of gas as well.
