Talking eibach pro kit and other goodies - installed

alright guys, after much pain and suffering, scott and i finally finished installing my parts at about 4:00 this morning. we didn't get the torque arm in, but other than that the only things left out were the SFC's and gear, because i need to pretty much have a shop install them.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

THE BAD:

so yeah, i guess you really do have to roll your fenders

i think i also need to adjust on the PHB a little more. we eyeballed it last night and it looks pretty damn perfect, but it only rubs on the left side, so i guess it's not as perfect as it may seem. i also did a search here, and it appears KYB shocks are cheap for a reason :iono:. i'm going to try to get everything adjusted out to where it's driveable for now, and i'll probably just have to pony up for a set of revalved bilsteins from strano or something.

The stance is so much better! How's the ride with the KYBs?

It only rubs with 11" rears right?

the ride seems OK to me, it's not rough or anything as far as i can tell, but i only drove it about 10 miles home on 1960. i didn't get up too fast because i was worried about the tire hitting and everything. i put the KYB adjustables in the front and left the stock shocks in the back for now. nice firm ride up front, and real saggy in the back.

i don't know if it's just the 11" rims that will rub. mine definitely rub, but i like i said i have some adjusting to do on the PHB

the stance is nicer but eibach springs are too bouncy for me, you should roll your frenders but your rear tires should only rub when you have more than 2 people in the car. Other than that if its rubbing, id go with something different.

Looks great. How's the ride quality now? When I had the pro-kit on my Firehawk, the ride really suffered.

i got those airbags that you can buy from jegs and put them inside the spring and inflated them just enough to prevent the suspension from going that low and avoid ruining the tire, im running 20's right now put the bags in and did not inflate them and no problems with the hotchis kit, but when i had my stockers it was a problem

well, it was a PITA mostly because we didn't know what to expect. the back is a breeze, but the front gave us hell. ok, where the front shock mounts in the top of the strut tower sits a cup that apparently collects water over the years. the nut that holds the shock on sits in there, and that made the nut rust onto the shaft that comes out of the shock, and after 2 hours of fighting the first one, we took it to a shop and they had to die grind the nut off. the second, we were prepared and put plenty of WD40 on it and fought it for about 30 mins before we got it off. my car only has 49,000 miles on it and doesn't get driven in the rain much at all, so i suspect most are like that. other than that, even the front suspension comes apart VERY easy
