Always sucks to hear about someone dying. I agree that the Z06 or any high powered vehicle is easy for the inexperienced to disrespect. There have been numerous 2008 Vipers totalled recently, mostly due to lack of respect for the power it puts down.

Agreed, really sucks to hear this kind of news, at the time of morning it took place you can't help but speculate "the cause", yet it could have been an emergency or just irresponsible driving. Guess until an autopsy it's all speculation.
Prayers go out to the family...

Wow that is something. I know this can sound stupid to some and please don't think I'm using a camaro as powerful car but when I first got my z28 I was used to my previous 2 trucks with the fastest one cutting mid 15's. I lost it a few times in my Z by not knowing when to get out if it. I truly gained respect for power at the point and haven't really had any close calls since. My dad always used to tell me things like thats to much car for that kid and I never really understood it or agreed with him. It truly comes with maturity as to whether you can handle a powerful vehicle or not...
Man that really sucks to hear. I am assuming it was not somewhere from here or we would know by now. Not sure if an autopsy could tell much depending on the level of burn that was sustained. I have worked a few where there was not much left after fires.
Here is some info about the driver...
The owner was a 10 year employee of Champion Chevrolet Gulf Freeway.
he bought the car last week and still had paper tags on it.
Everyone at the dealership is pretty tore up.
Nothing left of the car.
A GM engineer was able to find out this info.
Thanks for sharing the info Monique.

I think that's almot the same exact area where someone in a black transam lost it. Car broke in three pieces! This was about 3 year ago, something about that area....
Can't remeber his name right now, but he was a finance guy ( hispanic) he bought an Escalade last year and just purchased the Zo6. He left for a while and came back to Champion etc... RIP! Probably just got a little excited with the car and like Tony said not used to a car with that type of power etc...
