Default Lake Charles....

So I'm going for the day with the girlfriend just to check it out since we've never been.

What are some really good places to eat?
Which casinos are good as far as free drinks and **** like that goes?

Thanks,
-Oz

Isle of Capri is nice if you want to play and eat. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, with a fancy buffet, and are less concerned with getting a table/machine go to L’Auberge du Lac.

L'Auberge du Lac still has slots and stuff right?
What about places to eat outside of the casinos? Good cajun restaurants?

Not sure about places to eat, but you get free drinks at all casinos as long as you are doing some sort of gambling.

I agree with you, however they don't seem to have as many tables and slot machines as the Isle of Capri. The times we've went it seemed like most of the "regular guy" (ie I am not going to play $150+ a hand at blackjack) tables and slot machines we're full.

For great cajun food go to Floyd's in Beaumont on the way to Lake Charles. The food there is awesome! Definitley get the seafood gumbo. Floyd's is located on I-10 near the intersection of I-10 & I-69. It is on the north side of I-10. If you're going east on I-10 take the first exit after you pass I-69, which I think is College St., make a u-turn and head back west on the feeder. Floyd's will be on the right about a 1/4 or 1/2 mile on you right. Lauberge du Lac is definitely the nicest casino in the Lake Charles area.

There's actually a good cajun restaurant in Pearland. It's near Dixie Farm. O'Cajcen Seafood Restaurant.

L'Auberge du Lac is awesome.

Me and my GF drive out there every now and then just to chow down on their buffet, it's outrageous. It's only about 45 minutes from my house depending on how haungry I am. All you can eat king crab =

They have a bakery/dessert bar in the middle of the room and are constantly cranking out badass food too. It's $25/person, but is a huge bargain.
