TDP Clutches
Who has a TDP clutch? how do you like it? how much power do you put down and how do you drive it (how much do you slip it in city driving).
i think my pressure plate is giving out on my stock clutch... i was originally looking at going with an LS7 clutch since i only put down like 354rwhp, but these TDP clutches arent that much more for what you supposedly get. and supposedly they are much more streetable than something like a SPEC3.

I have about 300 miles/3 passes on mine by others than Jason. Clutch has some chatter in 1st gear slow roll-out but has improved with miles just as I was told it would. Pedal effort is near stock and should last a long time. I have never driven a Spec 3.

I have it and its got about 3K miles on it or so. Been very happy. Chatter does reduce some, but I found you just give it alittle more throttle off the line and let it slip a hair and it doesnt chatter at all. Had the spec 3i, 3+, and Ram VDS. I like it better than all of those. Car is putting down 450+whp.

Im running his cluth, press. plate, and flywheel...yes it is somewhat of a tex knockoff. Have had it about a year and about 2,000 miles on it, 10x better than the spec I had in there before!!! The pedal feel is really close to stock and minimal chatter every once in a while. Im throwing down a little over 400.
His work and honesty is also noteworthy, dropped my car off to him about 2:00 pm and he called me back at about 7:00 pm saying he was about to take it out on a test drive. Did a great job on putting everything back together.

+1 for TDP! finally got my clutch installed last night... Jason was willing to work with my work schedule and even stay late to finish the job when it was taking longer than expected.
cant wait to break it in so i can finally get back to the track!

I put about 15k on mine spraying 100 shot before I sold. 4k clutch dumps were no problem and the chatter actually wears in after time. Like said previously, a little blip on the throttle at takeoff keeps it nice and smooth. I'd definitely recommend!

who says a spec 3 isnt streetable? Mine doesnt chatter at all. Only down side is its nearly impossible to launch on street tires without burning the tires off...cant slip the damn clutch out like i could with the stocker.

Nobody said the Spec 3 wasnt streetable, it was just stated that TDP clutches are more streetable and have more of a stock like feel than the Spec. I personally would choose my TDP over the Spec any day!!!

I mis read what the OP was saying. But i agree that the spec 3 feels nothing like stock. I like the feel alot better but i do miss being able to slip the clutch from a launch and actually have a chance at traction. I need a drag radial damnit.
