Default How do I calculate TT&L on a car?

I'm trying to estimate how much tax, title, and license would be on a car.

6.25% of the outright selling price on a new car for TT&L.

If you trade a car, it's 6.25% of the difference between your trade and the selling price of the new car.

So if I purchased a car outright, no trade in, for $40k, I add 6.25% and that gives me the TT&L? $42,500

I think that gives you the tax. Title and license is a little bit more...I want to say around $100 tops.

Thats correct if you buy from a dealer. If you buy private party, its based on Standard Presumptive Value of the car unless you sales price was 80% of that value or higher.

You have to watch dealers they will add a bunch of crap in the TT&L like inventory taxes and make ready fees and act like it is not negotiable.
