Default question for 4 post lift users

When you lower the lift all the way down, does it go all the way to the floor? I just finished installing a Bendpak in my garage and when fully lowered, the cables are still tight and the rails are 2 inches off the ground. Almost seems like the cables are too short.

not sure that I understand. The cables never lose any tension. There is nothing that runs below the ramps or crossmembers. It all runs inside them and cant get caught. It just seems like the ram is fully extended, but lift doesn't make it to the floor

That doesn't sound right at all. I have 4 bendpak lifts and all of them (including the 4 posts) have slack past even with the ramp on the floor.
