Harbor Freight makes a couple of low profile steel jacks for under 100 bucks. I'm not a huge fan of aluminum jacks as I end up lifting a lot of random stuff from tractors to trucks. I use the jack to lift a lowered Camaro and on a 72 Chevy pickup. Also get jack stands.

I bought a one from Sam's Club about 4 years ago for $69. I want to say it's a Goodyear one? It's blue, and has the name of some big tire company on it. It's worked great for me. I do a LOT of work in my garage. Probably lifts a car 10-15 times a month and hasn't failed me yet.

I've always liked the high end (if you can say that) duralast jacks. Been using a low pro aluminum one for awhile. No problem yet. It can get the car up there pretty high too.

I've got the 3 ton HF jack and I like it and I like that I got it for 59.99 with a coupon out of HOT ROD. I do wish it was a little lower profile since if I want to jack the front up I have to drive on a couple 2x8's

I'm looking at one of these jacks I'm tired of crap jacks as I have now tossed 2 (blown seals and mechanical failure - never even close to the load rating) of them in 5-6 years of light usage. I've never had a nice jack and think I'm due for one. American made and spare part available.

bought my 3 1/2 ton jack from sams club, its a michelin. been using it for 4 years now, work's flawless everytime.

That's a nice jack but unless you have a Porsche you don't need one Do you really need to lift your car almost 3 feet? A rear engine Porsche owner does if they want to do an engine swap. I had a hell of time getting my 914 up high enough with my crap jack to get the tall air cooled POS engine out of the car - the new Subaru that is replacing it is much shorter so I don't an extreme jack like this one.

yes I need it to go that high actually. I can't get a lift in my garage and a max jax setup would take up too much space. So this thing I can raise the car off the ground high enough so I don't have to be a contortionist under it and work on different things. I'm 6'3" so all the height I can get helps me greatly.

After all the craftsman, sams club, and harbor freight style crap try the NAPA 3 1/2 ton jack.
