Best Jack(lift)for our cars?
I see all these low profile aluminum jacks on the market and I'm wondering if there is one out there that i can trust will clear the under carriage of my car (car is stock)
I plan on doing some work this spring on the car and want to lift the front end up via the K member.
Is there a jack out there that will clear the middle of the K member?

Check out the Arcan jacks on Northern tool. I have these:

Both are very nice. You can score the 3.5 ton steel jack on sale for $100 on occasion...it is considerably heavier of course, but is a very smooth jack.
I also have this jack, and have no complaints about it...just doesn't lift quite as high as I would like.

I WOULD NOT recommend a single Craftsman jack. I own the only one that had decent ratings (now down to 3 stars). Had to take back the 1st one I got because it wouldn't lift. The replacement worked beautifully for about a year with light use...then one day it decided to **** oil all over, and I have yet to be able to come up with a seal kit for it. The store employees have been worthless thus far. I never ever ever left weight on the jack for any length of time...always lifted and then lowered on to jack stands. $300 waste of space at the moment.

I recently bought this jack from Harbor Freight. Can't beat the price either, only $79.99 for a 2.5 ton. It's low profile, fits great, my car is lowered..
