I want to buy a nice size tool set, I do a decent amount of work on my car (rear end, suspension....) I don’t do any major engine or trans stuff so I don’t need some of those more specific tools, where and what should I buy???

Craftsman has a nice 246 or so piece tool set. It usually sells for 199.99 or so. I have once seen it at 149.99 though. I believe it comes with a 4 drawer plastic tool box, with all the little places for the sockets, ratchets and whatnot.

Yep, the 246 piece set is nice. Check out ebay, Sears clearance center and a few others sell those and they usually go for under $150 from what I've seen. Not sure if those ones come with the plastic tool box though, I never really looked at them that close.
The biggest tool that I would say is a must have is a set of reversable ratcheting wrenches. I don't know how I ever lived without them. You can get those cheap on ebay too, just make sure to check the Sears price first at Craftsman.com because some of the stuff goes for more than in the store.
