Default Garage Heater ???s

It's been a little cold out there so far this winter, and I was thinking of getting some kind of heat set up in my garage. It is ~840 sq ft in size. I don't really need to make it into a sauna , just something to make it a bit more comfortable .

I don't know a lot about the kerosene type heaters, but I have heard that the fumes can cause headaches/dizzy, and they tend to burn up the oxygen in the air . I don't know how big of a concern this is if it is just for a few hours at a time.

Propane seems to be a bit 'cleaner' then the kerosene, but I don't know what I would do about mounting a tank somewhere, or if it was a large tank, how do you get them filled?

I found and interesting electric type on the Lowe's website that seems to have good potential. It is this model: http://plumbing.aubuchonhardware.com...ter-450375.asp
I don't know how well it would work if I mounted it to the ceiling (unfinished/open rafters), but it would be out of the way, and I could wire up outlets to a switch to turn them on and off. I think I would have to go with 2-3 of them for the area I have.

What do you guys use in your garages? Any thoughts or recommendations?? Thanks

You don't want the kerosene heater believe me, a friend of mine has a small furnace that runs on LP gas and it works great. He has the LP tank ( I don't know the size ) set behind his building, when it runs low he just calls the LP gas guy to fill it up. You want something that gets fresh air from the outside, if you don't you might not be around for summer crusing. Good luck wih your choice.

It really doesn't getall that cold here in Texas, but when it's in the 30s, my little propane heater works quite well.

It's like this, only a single burner
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...857164-7868154

A small tank of propane lasts for 18-24 hours and it works quite well in a 24x40 insulated metal shop.

It's portable so you can move it around easily.
