Default What you think of his Hoist/Stand

I was looking through the new northern tool catalog and saw this and was wondering what you guys thought. It looks pretty cool, its a hoist/stand, and the stand slides off so its like a 2 in 1.NorthernTool

Justin

P.S. - Was looking at this since i just got myself an ls1 thats going into my 91 camaro.

I would think as long as you can take off the stand while its on the hoist and vice versa b/c the stand would get in the way when dropping it into the engine bay. and how would you slide the hoist back after taking the engine out if the hoist had to be extended all the way?

Agreed. Its a novel idea, but for a hoist, the stand section would be in the way, although it does look like it is removeable, and does the arm extend or retract ??
How would you extend it with an engine attached ??

And it would make for a very large and clumsy engine stand during use.

As long as the stand comes off easily, it's be fine.

that thing looks bad ***. i think youre a phone call away from ordering it, as stated above, just clarify that every component breaks away. thats great. on the SIDE note, it is sometimes nice to have both at your disposal for other needs. but for that price, cant go wrong!
