Default torque wrench ?

if you had a torque wrench that went down to 20ftlbs and up to 150ftlbs and you needed to torque a bolt to 12 ftlbs could you back the micrometer handle down another 8 ftlbs and it would be 12 ftlbs torque setting and could you do the same but crank it up to 200. or will this just mess the torque wrench up.

general rule try not to max the torque wrench out or go too low. It won't give a accurate of a reading.
