Default Need Help With Impact selection!

Hey guys i just got a new impact gun, the IR2135Ti and now i need sockets, which sockets would u reccomend? i am new to the industry (im in school) and i decide between 6 point impact or 12 point impact and which would be best for overall use size wise? i dont see much use for a 10 mm impact socket right now. thanks guys! hey btw if anyone needs tools from matco, i get 52% off so let me know if u want something!

6 point impact (unless your doing aircraft), less likely to strip the bolt head, for sockets, Mac, Snap On, or Craftsman (sorry don't care for Matco too much)
Get the larger sizes 1/2" (13mm) and up

Everything I have is 12 point with the exception of my impact stuff..(simply because they didnt have it on the truck) I used a set of craftsman 6 point impact sockets everyday for 2 years straight and never had a problem. only reason I bought new Snap on ones is the tool guys like a drug dealer...I'd say its better to have a 12 point set rather than a 6 it would be like having 2 sets

6 points grip better and make it a little more difficult to strip the threads.

What are you working on, semis require larger tools than the average car, but usually for a car I haven't had much need for sockets over an 1"- 1 1/8" (of course I don't do it for a living)

from 9/16th to 1" and a few big ones for front end spindels don't know sizes. 6 point is great. I have been using a cheep set of Cummings 6 points for a long time and I have a IR Top Gun wrench. this is a preatty high torque wrench and I havent broke one. if you don't have a lot of cash, for now, buy a cheep set of 6 point impacts and get all sizes.
