Default What is mandrel bender?

From my understanding, I thought that a mandrel bender is a tool that can bend a tube w/o changing the ID/OD of the tube at the bends, unlike the typical crush benders.

I just saw a commercial for rotary bender where it operates very similar to a mandrel bender and the final product seems to have "mandrel bends" w/ no noticeable difference in OD at the bends.

Can someone please clarify?

Mandrel bender incorporates a "mandrel" inside the tube as it bends. So a mandrel bending machine can be like 20' long.
