Are you looking for an inch/lb. tq wrench to set the bearings? I found a beam-type for ~$50 from KD-Tools, #2955 0-60in/lb, when I rebuilt my rearend.

I believe he needs a dial type to set pinion bearing preload. If you want one cheap your going to have to order it online. Any retail store is going to rip you a new one. Check harbor freight for a 1/4" dial meter, maybe northern.

Yea, you need a dial type. Your not looking for the click here, it's more like adjusting tire pressure really... except you can't bleed air out if you overfill/torque I use the snap-on type but I got a great deal on mine. Normally they would be really high.

You can use either one, you just need something able to measure the dragging torque. Beam or dial will measure any torque acting on the wrench, i.e. bearing drag.

in/lb torque wrenches aren't in very high demand and the kd-tools beam wrench was the only "budget" one I could find. Everything else I found were "professional" dial wrenches from Snap-on, Mac, etc. for at least several hundred dollars.
