Default Exhaust Hanger

Guys I know this is probablly pretty basic but nothign I have ever thought to notice. Yesterday my hanger broke on my exhaust well it didn't break it came loose from where it was welded to the car. I'm not an expert but shouldnt it have been bolted to somethign under the car and not welded? The hanger is welded to the exhaust but also welded to something not sure havent really looked. Does it matter if I have it welded back or should I bolt it to something?

Are you sure it's a weld? Could it have slid, or tore, out of a rubber mount?

checked to make sure it was a weld but apparently its a 89 model camaro exhaust that had been put on the 02 f body, maybe the hangers are in different places? im not sure still a noob lol. do exhaust come w/ the hangers pre welded in the proper places for the specific car? or is that something you have done when haveing the exhaust put on? either way the exhaust had been designed for an older model camaro could that be why the hanger is somewhere it had to be welded and couldnt be bolted or anything? sorry for the questions that are probablly obvious things for most ppl lol
