Did avatar size limit change?
My avatar right now is 85x56. I'm trying to make a new one, but it says the limit is now 60x60. I can't make any that look good that small, why the change?

Hrm, maybe your old one was grandfathered in from the old board software?
I agree, 60x60 is rather small. I'm guessing mine got grandfathered as well.
Any thoughts admins?

I was wondering also. I thought they used to allow larger avatars. I agree that you can't make anything look good that small. You can't even tell what some of them are. If you make a pixel limit instead of a size limit would that make a difference?

I was thinking about this too, it'd be cool if they were put back to 80x80, even better if they were 100x100... but Brains probably has good reason to do it.

I made a new avatar the other day
<-------
I had to size it down to 60x60
Come on atleast goto 80x80, thats still super small and it would give us an increase of 33%.

The biggest reason for the change was to accommodate users with lower screen resolutions. There were some problems with folks fitting everything on the screen without having to scroll both horizontally as well as vertically.
You guys gotta remember, avatars are intended to be little personal identifiers -- mainly torso shots and such. If you're trying to fit something with more detail and/or a bigger size (ie. your car) the avatar really isn't the place to put it.
