Default New forum pleeaassee...

hey guys....

this is an unbelievable website with a near limitless wealth of information. i wish it was made known to me before i had started modding my SS vert'. it's great you now have a convertible forum, unfortunately i'm now selling mine and working on my new project.

What would it take for you all to start a new forum based around big block and small block chevy's/pontiac motors???? you have a forum for ls1's in non-ls1 equipped cars--hybrids. but i know that there are a number of us who are looking into/doing conversions to first gen based engines in our cars. most of the forum would likely be about fitment of various items, and combos, but even that alone would be a great deal of help in aiding us in choosing to persue such a swap, or those in the process of doing it. some of the guys on here are in the process of, and some like BradyZ has already done it. but trying to do a search for their posts, pics, or comments is no easy task! plus, at the time i did not know how serious i was about doing this, but just today i pulled the motor out of my new project and used it as partial trade plus $2500 for a down payment on a sbc. it would be nice to chat back and forth with others who have done the same, and i wouldn't mind helping others out who are curious either.

can you let me know if this is something you would consider? even if it is a no due to this being "ls1 tech". i just want to know someone has given this a thought. no sarcasm there btw.

thanks, and keep up the good work.
Dave

It's an interesting suggestion.

In fact why not use the current hybrid/conversion forum to get some threads going? I could email Brady and a few others I know who have BBC's in 4th gens to post?

hey john...........

i have just e-mailed KTAMEZ, DARREN HARDEN, and GEORGE C, after someone linked a thread for me when i posted a question as to who's motor i posted a pic of. it's in the multimedia section.

i will post a thread in the hybrid section asking for response to this idea. i hope the turnout will be acceptable enough to start the forum.

thanks in advance,
Dave

ps. thanks for the name change. that was easier than i thought it would be.

I am currently installing a big block in my 98 T/A and would love to see a BBC/sbc conversion forum added to the site!

I feel like I'm following this topic around the site.

PSJ and others know I'm all for such a forum. Hell, I started a 7-second club thread last week, but it was suddenly deleted by derty, the moderator. Certain BBC topics are clearly OK, because PSJ just started one on BBC headers.

From a business perspective, expanding this site to allow full coverage of BBC topics would be a very wise decision, because it will bring additional sponsors and users to this site.

From a racing perspective it also makes sense, because LT1, LS1, SBC and BBC cars race against each other at most races and even at today's shootout.

We need a permanent BBC forum.

Exactly. It's been mentioned in more than one section and a positive response is always the result. Come on now, can anyone think of a reason not to? Could it possibly hurt the site? There aren't many worthwhile message boards for bbc's already, and a lot of you ls1 guys know about things other than ls1's, which would help out people like me a lot .
From what I keep seeing, mustangs are tolerated than bbc's on this site!!
I know they are competition, but if someone can post about them, why do almost all of the bbc threads get shut down?
Help me out here!!!
