Default Sending PM's

I have set it up before on other sites where I make a link to send me a PM, but have the subject/title already filled out for the user. I can't seem to figure out the correct coding.

This is a link to another site that I have it setup like this for.

http://www.ls2.com/forums/private.ph...subject=Tuning

I've tried and tried to no avail to get it to work on here. Here is the link I have on here.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/private.p...pm&userid=7783

I figured I could just add &title=whatever but that doesn't seem to work. Any help would be greatly apprecited.

Very true. I've not found a way to do that either. I'll get in touch with Brains about it. ACW may also know.

While I can see a legitimate use, I can also see it being misused as a spamming aid..

FWIW, I don't know off the top of my head whether or not the option to pass those fields in the URL remains in the newer (v3.x) versions of vBulletin. I'd have to go digging in the source to see if there field value is allowed to be passed in.

Thanks I apprecaite it. I just figued it would be really helpful to put up a link in the sponsor section for prices that we can't post, the user can click the link and we know exactly what they are looking for as we have made the title already. Be easy to keep PMs organized as well IMO.

I think you're misunderstanding, this is the opposite way around. It would only make it easier for customers to send messages to the sponsor, with more consistent subject-lines so that the sponsor can sort through them easier.

I would be willing to bet that any hacks involving sponsor interaction tools(or anything else for that matter) will come after Brains has finished dealing with the backend conversion that is currently going on - which is a completely custom-coded job by Brains himself on the vBulletin software. Once that is in place and optimized, and he takes a little time for himself, I bet he will try to tackle all of the smaller little things that people have mentioned.
