Default Search inside a forum

Trying to search inside a forum just has me searching the entire site. Which is certainly better than not working, but now I'm being bombarded with hundreds of threads when I'm just looking for specific ones (IE: tried to search for oxygen sensors in the Parts for Sale forum, and it searched the whole site). Something on my end or just a small hiccup? Thanks.

FYI.... the search feature is being re-written.
You may see some odd behavior until its complete.

Indeed - we're in the "alpha test" phase at the moment. If you notice, most searches now return VERY quickly, where they would time out with the regular vBulletin search. There's still a few features not fully implemented though, and search within a thread/forum is one of 'em.

Performance first, functionality second. That's the right order, isn't it? I mean who cares about how many cupholders it has when it runs 8's @ 178

Have you talked to the owners of Corvette Forum? Their site is about four times as large but everytime I've ever used the search there it's always worked great for me.

CF is laid out a little differently than us - they archive a lot of things off periodically, and you search 'em separately. I think they keep like 6 months in the "recent" index or something like that. We search the entire shooting match all at once. No right or wrong, just different approaches.

I'm not trying to be an ******* or anything and I'm attempting to be patient, but it's hard when you're trying to trace down items in the for sale section to piece together a new motor. Is there any sort of time estimate we're looking at?

AKA: These are a little frustrating:

You shouldn't have trashed your ****, then search being down wouldn't have been an issue

Then I had to work 4 days in a row. Well I went into work at the wrong time yesterday so I decided to finish it up. I finished everything, cleaned the brakes off and, bled them. I put the wheels back on, let it down, then torqued the lug nuts to 100ft-lbs.

I go to start it up to break in my brakes when CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK BOOOOM! My dad was down at the end of the street and heard it. It was so loud my neighbor came out to see what was going on.
Or you could not be talk out your *** about things you don't know about. AKA shut the **** up . Even if that was a joke or what ever it's not funny nor am I laughing. All I was doing was asking simple a question. I'm sure lots of other people are frustrated about it too as can be seen with the 9 million search being down threads.
