Default ? about search function

Alright this is driving me nuts. When I use the search in a specific forum does it show results in all threads????? It is really annoying. I am an Admin on another site and thats not how our search functions.

Not to be rude, but as an admin:
1. You should be aware of site stickies and what they mean
2. You haven't admin'ed a site with 4 forums tied together, encompassing ~8 million posts. Some things are a little different than when you have a mere 28,000 posts

Well to be rude I personally dont care that in the sticky it says Yes the problem is known. My reason for asking is WHY???? Is it your settings or just a bug that you are trying to work out???? Mind you the forums you looked at are a year old smart guy and more of a local forum

No he is in the correct thread. Just not providing any info what so ever other then "Yes it is a known problem". Kind of not answering my question in anyway at all.

Let me rephrase this for Brains:

READ THE DAMN STICKY THREADS, your question has been asked a million times AND answered.

Thats fine. I love how questions are answered sometimes. I read the stickies and the linked threads. Mind you it was left pretty vague hense the question. O well.

Just for you, I went ahead and edited all the bs out of that longer thread and summarized it into a new thread. It is stuck at the top.

Much thanks. The time I do get to spend on here I hate sorting through bs. Something along a site related question esp. I didnt mean to seem like a dick, and I know you guys are busy. Something about spending time on 10 pages of gibberish can get annoying, but its a public forum. BTW the thread is much nicer for a tech sticky

To summarize, NO. It's not a bug, settings or some patch that will fix it. The ROOT/CORE of the Database is not able to handle the volume that JUST tech has. And that's not including the other sites.

Be patient please. I need to search to work for me too. All of us do to some extent. Brain's pours in a ton of custom programming work to try and crutch the software along. Soon the site will be on new hardware and new software with a search that WILL work.

I suppose try it in firefox, I'll be working on this issue. I'll try not to derail this thread but I suppose your viewing this in IE? IE 6 / 7?

Thanks for the notification Gearhed!

Funny part is, that same response was LISTED IN THE FAWKING STICKY. I know, I wrote it.....

Clicking on the flashing sticky takes you to this page:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....91&postcount=1

And clicking the Search Feature Problems link takes you here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....32&postcount=2

Not sure how you have to sort through 10 pages to get to that.

Love the flash man, good stuff
