Default How about having some kind of a Newb guide on here

A friend of mine just added on here and I am trying to help him out as far as the way we like to do things here. Mainly using the search and the stickies and posting in the correct sections.

I just thought it would be nice if there was some type of a message sent to the new users here that explained using the search and stickies vs posting new threads on things that have been discussed many times.

Do we have anything like that?

Just thought it would be a good idea if we didn't.

That has all the info, but not every one will look in that section. Most will cruise straight to the technical sections.

Kinda like when you get a new phone and then you get the text saying welcome to cingular.

Have a note that says read this before you do anything. That would make people take notice of those things instead of going straight to the tech sections.

It has been a while since I registered, so I can't remember what screens I went through.

Any chance that the link could be waiting in the PM box for new members?

I know a lot of sites have a welcome PM they send out when you join. This one may have too but it's been a while since I registered.
