**************SOLD****************

I’ve decided to sell my 2002 Camaro Z28 with a LS 427, not an easy decision, but I need something a little more tame. It’s been fun, but this thing is a beast that I just don’t use enough (sadly). The car is running great, ran an 11.14 @ 127.8 a couple of months ago, DA corrected to a 10.96 @ 130.0. And that’s with a 1.7x sixty foot and a road racing rather than drag suspension under it. It’s a mid 10 second car with the right suspension, easily.

My goal for the car was near stock appearance and 10 second quarter miles. The 10 second barrier was a bit problematic because you have to have a roll bar for < 11.49, so really I only have 1 go at it per trip to the track because I get kicked out. Regardless, the car has met those goals. The other thing I tried to do was use the best components/builders/mods.

Engine was built from scratch by Erik Koenig at HKE back in 2009. It was an LS3/L92 aluminum block, bored and stroked to 427 cubic inches. TFS 235 heads, big cam, built for N/A only. I’ve put approximately 2,300 miles on the motor since then. It dyno’d 559 rwhp on a fairly conservative tune my Moe Bailey. Keep in mind too that this is through at Moser 12 bolt (4.10 gears). MN6 transmission was rebuilt and upgraded with heavy duty components at the same time as then engine build. I also added a Monster clutch and new flywheel at that point. The Moser 12 bolt was added back around 2005 or so, it’s got around 25,000 miles on it.

For the engine build, transmission rebuild and tune, I solicited advice from here on www.ls1tech.com and went with the most consistent recommendations. I wanted things done correct.

Parts list is below, I have documentation for most of what’s on the list, most importantly the engine. Total mods on the car cost over $20,000. And that doesn’t include the labor, lol.

Couple other things. I've been on LS1tech.com for many years and done several deals with fellow members. I bought this car brand new in Austin Texas in 2002 from Champion Chevrolet in Austin. It was my daily driver for about five and a half years, but was garaged almost every day (parking garage at office and garage at home). As a result, the paint is still in excellent condition. The interior is still in great shape, no tears, cracks, etc. The car does have a few exterior cosmetic flaws as I drove it every day but there’s nothing too serious, I can send pics of the flaws if you are a serious buyer. Odometer reads about 60,800 miles, but again, motor and rebuilt trans have about 2,300 miles on them.

Issues… not many, but it is a 10 year old car now. A couple of the speakers are blown, ABS light is on (because my rear tires are taller than the fronts), and the car is current on its inspection but is not currently emissions compliant: long tube headers and TSP true duals with X-pipe and Moroso spiral flows. It sounds wicked and shakes the house. I’ll miss that part.

Asking $18,000. This isn't a forced sale, just looking to go in another direction, I won't respond to low ball offers.

Parts list (I have most receipts but not all, I do have the important stuff like the HK build sheet and Moser 12 bolt invoice).

Thanks. Car has good street manners after warming up. On cold starts it will stumble and hunt a bit, sometimes its fine sometimes I have to give it some gas to keep it lit. After warm up does very well considering the size of the cam, I do have to put the clutch in from time to time to get the rpms back down to idle when rolling to a stop, but that's about it.

I've only been to the track 3 times with this motor, total of about 12 passes. Driven about 2,300 miles on the street, so its been much more of a street car than track car.

Motor was built strictly for N/A, especially related to the rings specs and placement.
