Default 2002 Procharged WS-6 (625+RWHP)

Year: 2002
Make: Pontiac
Model: Trans Am
Price: $15000
Mileage: 99000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): TX
Color: White
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

Hi everyone,

I am selling my Procharged WS-6 as I have started a new project. The car made 636RWHP on a DynoJet using a previous tune. That was making 14psi at 7k RPMs. Now it's making more like 16psi with a new tune, but I haven't had it to the dyno yet.

The car is great to drive in nice weather and has great street manners. However, this car cannot be driven on wet roads as it is right now. The intake is too close to the ground. With a change to the intake hat, this could probably be resolved. It was never a daily driver for me, though, so I don't drive it on wet roads to begin with.

The car has a front-mount intercooler that works extremely well and allows it to keep the fog lights, which many do not. To deal with heat issues, we installed a monsterous Ron Davis radiator that is stood up slightly from stock, and it has pretty much resolved my heating problems even in the Texas summer. Also the AC has been retained and works great. The car does not have a windshield washer fluid reservoir anymore as the intercooler goes in its place.

I haven't raced the car much except when it was bone stock. It's a six-speed car, so I never really saw the point. It is, however, set up for the drag strip. The Dana 60, carbon fiber driveshaft, Monster clutch, and other suspension mods can handle a hard leave. It's been 6.84@100 with a 1.52 60' time. I have only made maybe 10 passes in the past 3 years since the blower was installed, so I'm sure it could do better with some practice (and a better driver).

The interior is pretty much stock. Stock stereo, seats, etc. It doesn't have a roll bar or any other safety equipment, so it's comfortable to drive around and crawl in and out of. It does have a 3-gauge pillar, but that's about the only change to the interior.

Here's a list of the issues I'm aware of with the car:
  • The gears howl around 40-50mph in the rear end. They've done this since the rear end was brand new. I've had three shops look at it, and they all said the wear pattern is good. It's just a cosmetic issue.
  • The intake is close to the ground, so it can't go on wet roads
  • On rare occasion when it's very cold outside, the transmission will grind going into 4th. This clears up as soon as the temp gauge moves off of zero. When it's ice cold, you can avoid the grind by shifting gently until it warms up.
  • The tint could stand to be redone.

I will try to get a video to post up this coming weekend if the weather improves. In the meantime, I'm attaching some pics, and below is a list of mods that I can remember.

The car is in the Dallas area, and I'm asking $15,000.

It's too late to take pictures tonight, so here's a few I had from the Procharger install. Obviously, the piping is just being mocked up here, but this is how it ended up.

fwiw I have the same truck inlet on mine and what looks to be the same exact location as yours. I have driven mine a few times in the rain with no problems. I didnt go WOT obviously so I would like to think any mist that did get past the filter would have just been released out the bypass valve. Good luck with the sale!

The car is for sale again. I hydrolocked it in February, and it's been sitting for a while. Since then I've pulled the motor and had it to a machine shop where it got a fresh hone and new rod and main bearings. I've since reassembled the car (with a new set of injector O-rings, which I believe to be the reason it hydrolocked), and it's running like a champ.

I have a new project that I'm dying to start on, so I'm reducing my asking price significantly. I'm looking to get rid of this car quickly.

This is one of my favorite cars on this site. I wish I was in the position to pull the trigger on this ride.

Wow, thanks man. Sincerely, that means a lot. Considering the size of this site and the caliber of cars that are on it... I really appreciate that.
