LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

It's time to get a more practical car and i'm considering my options. It has 150,000 miles with religious oil changes, but the car itself shows the wear of all those miles. KBB says I shouldn't expect more than a grand or so as a trade-in and a local mechanic suggested I post here as there might be a market for the car just for the engine alone, despite the high mileage. I don't have a set price so I'm considering any reasonable offer.

Black exterior, Red interior.

I'm sure you're right, unfortunately i'm just not in a position to sell it as anything other than a single unit (just moved to a city with no garage to store it in).

I suck. I'll try to find some time to post some pics tonight. No mechanical issues with the engine so far. I just had the front tie rods replaced and i'll be replacing the front brake rotors and pads soon; other than that it seems to be in pretty good shape.

should be posted up over in the ls1gto.com forums. I won't lie, if you were closer I'd snowball you into selling it to me for $3k and then send it to the shop for a full pedders upgrade w/ coil overs, then drive the hell out of it for another 750-100k when I'd rebuild the motor/trans/rearend: and still be ahead of the game. As is, I'll give you the truth: if runs good and body and interior in decent shape for the miles then it's worth $7,000 at least. Don't settle for less irregardless of what KBB says. BTW KBB is bullshit nowadays and they are run by the car dealer networks that pay them to list vehicles WAYYY under there real value. Never use them if you want the real value of any vehicle!

If you're doubting it, next time you are at a car dealership and the value of your trade in comes up watch the gleam in there eye as they greedily show you the listed KBB for your car.

Well let's just say $1000 is way undervalued and you must of made a mistake in pulling the book value.

Market is determined by what someone will pay, I would very seriously give you $2000 today, sight unseen, and pay to have the car shipped to me. That is a very real offer, but I bet someone on here will beat it.
