Default 408 M6 Trans Am

Year: 2000
Make: Pontiac
Model: Trans Am
Price: $12000
Mileage: 113500
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): UT
Color: Red
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

I am selling my Trans Am, I started this build this spring and the motor spun a bearing after only 530 miles. Thompson motor sports covered it under warranty but the magic was gone for me after doing the build twice. Since getting it together again I've barely put any miles on it and just don't have the drive to do anything with it. I have already bought a 2011 GT500 so this likely won't get many more miles. I did take it out for the first time in over a month on Friday and it is a beast, it drives great and makes oodles of power, it will put a smile on your face, I guarantee it!

MODS:

TMS 408 iron block with 325 miles-- has lots of arp hardware including head studs and rod bolts and Diamond -2cc pistons
Compression is about 11:1
Thompson motor sports cam- .625/.625 lift, 232/236 duration, 112 LSA
PRC ported LS3 heads
LS9 head gaskets
LS3 Intake
Nick Williams 92mm throttle body
Moser 9" rear with 4.11 gears-- has no abs ring so abs is inop
T-56 6-speed that shifts great though reverse has gotten hard to get into
Monster stage 3 clutch with aluminum flywheel-- this has been balanced as well, it was off balance from monster... Also has new slave cylinder
Racetronics fuel pump with Hotwire harness
17" Z06 replica wheels with near new Nitto 555 tires all around
WS9 ram air hood, great fit and looks very nice
New Bilstein shocks with strano springs, I also installed new tie rod ends on both sides
BMR adjustable tq arm
Founders performance poly LCA's and pan hard bar
New Poly motor mounts and trans mount
Pacesetter 1 3/4" headers, TSP catted Y, 3" magnaflow catback

The interior is in good shape, dash pad is good and the seats are NOT cracked as most fbody seats are. The door panels however are cracked where all fbody's do. The exterior is in great shape as well and it has an aftermarket ram air hood that fits good. The body has 113,500 miles on it.

The bad:
-Oil pan has a crack in it and it leaks kinda bad while and right after running, found it online for $200 new. It leaves a silver dollar sized spot after shutdown.
-Passenger window is slow and needs a new motor
-Passenger door has a spot above handle where clearcoat blew off with my pressure washer

This car runs very strong and is a lot of fun to drive, I suspect the 408 is close to or over 500whp. After doing the 408 build twice and having this oil pan pop up I'm just sick of working on it and it's time to move on. This car will be a monster and is built to handle 900 hp. I have about $10,000 in this car just this year, I'm asking $12,000, I am open to REASONABLE offers now but am not desperate to sell. I have all receipts from this year and will include them to the buyer. I will check here at least once a day and reply to messages but the quickest way to get ahold of me is texting. Jeff at 801-791-9376

Car is located in Roy, Utah.

Thanks for looking!

How many miles have you put on the motor after the 2nd rebuild?

Can you more pics? I'd like to see the interior, trunk, etc.

It has about 325 miles. I can get some more pics of the interior, no problem.

What kind of rear does it have?

I know it leaks oil but would you be able to do a video walk around with it running? I'd love to hear how it sounds.

Damn iPad keeps changing the pic I uploaded when I try and load more! Text me and I can send more pics and get a short video.

It's a moser 9" that I got from Midwest chassis in 2008. It has about 40,000 miles.

Yeah it's a nice car for sure. Looks great. Just have to find the right person to get it and fix the issues.

I'm sure you could drive it home, I've driven it on the freeway and it does good, just blows oil drops on the y pipe which ends up smoking when you stop... It used about 1 quart over 325 miles.

If it doesn't move soon I'm going to replace the pan and get some miles on it and go from there, I might re-list it then for a bit more or maybe even keep it.

I have a suspicion that it might be the reverse lockout solenoid cause it operates just fine, just stiff going over.

That is quite the drive, you'd have to check it every fill up. If I do fix the pan I'll be asking more, I'm just looking at a quick unload cause I'm sick of working on it. But that is diminishing as time goes on.

I'd do 12500$ if you got pan fixed. I'd feel slot safer driving it that fsr.
