Default power steering reservoir leak/seep around cap.

After cleaning around he cap, within a week, it's wet again, like the fluid is seeping out slowly. It does get low on fluid. Any ideas why it my be leaking/seeping?? It's not a bad leak at all. It kinda dries before it gets to the bottom of the reservoir. Thanks.

mine did the same.. the rack n pinion boot has a small hole and would leak slowly and i would put too much fluid and it would over flow.. which then messed up my alternator..

my alternator is covered in PS fluid... still working strong though... kinda weird.

I need to find a place where I can put the car up on a lift and steam clean the underside to get all that oil residue off of everything... just can't find one

i have one of those black and decker power washers, works pretty well doing that.

i wonder if anyone makes a cover or spill guard to protect the alt from fluid?

I was thinking that very same thing this weekend. I should fabricate some sheet metal, then I thought, nah I should just fix the efing power steering pump!

Same here. Plus the washing machine broke so I had to get the car out of the garage and figure out what the eff was wrong with the washer. Ended up spending the whole weekend working on that. :/

mine does the same. there is a slight crack around the cap on mine around the edges and it leaks slowly. but i always keep my fluid a little lower because the ls1 PS pumps expand the fluid alot
