Default Is there a code on the door telling me if I have posi??
Not sure if my '98 SS has posi or not. Is there a way to know w/o spinning the tires or taking off the diff cover??

G80 is the one you're looking for. GU6 would mean 3.42 gears. It should have posi though since it's an SS... AFAIK only stock V6's came with open differentials.

manuals came with 3:42. autos only had GU2 and GU5 GU2 was highway package with steel driveshaft and 2:73's while the GU5 had aluminum driveshaft and 3:23 gears.

and you can also google RPO codes for your car and they will come up.

If it's a LT1 or LS1 from the factory, it has one. It was standard in all 4th gen V8's it's as simple as that.
