Default Smog advice

I'm picking up a 1999 Trans Am WS6 within the next couple weeks. It's got an LS6 intake manifold, Pacesetter LT's, and a catted-Y, stock catback with cutout. All the stock emissions stuff is there like EGR, AIR, O2 sensors.

I know this won't pass the visual inspection. BUT, if I were to get past the visual, and just do the sniffer/roller, do you think I could pass?

Any advice, comments, opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

you wont get as far as passing visual...with LT's the stock cat is not in the original location so there for you wont pass, a gay *** california law..

If you can find a dirty smog shop that will look over the visual you will not have a problem

most people worry about the visual not the sniffer...just find a freindly shop that can do it and your set, like i posted above the LTs wont pass the sniffer..

Cali law says we are not allowed to alter the position of the cats. If you have cats on the car you will pass but its more of the visual

If it has the stock EGR, AIR, O2 sensors, I think you'll pass the sniffer. Should be no problem.

are there any smog gurus from california that could chime in? i'm leaning more towards just getting a car with an unmodified exhaust system... i know i'm gonna be missing out on some hp minus the LTs, but it seems kinda risky to use the "fast-car-tax" on a transfer... and i could just swap in some LTs myself later anyways...

The problem is keeping the cats hot if you temporarily rap them and your car has been tuned then yah no problem. Plenty of shops who ignore the visual as long as it runs clean.
Oh yah pour in some methanol or ethanol to get her to pass taken a few cars from gross pollutant to "what the hell did you do?"
