Default Why not catco or eastern?

so for the california guys, from what i understand most aftermarket cats are illegal in california because they change the location of the factory converters. well eastern catalytic and catco both produce an OBDii direct fit replacement converter but for some reason are still illegal for sale in california.

can anyone tell me why?

different efficiency... aftermarket cats may flow better but the cats from the factory are but on there for one reason....to reduce smog. If you're worried about passing smog most won't know the difference if they're in the factory location.
