Post [Unofficial] SoCal Shop Directory

Hey, since we have a list of shops to avoid, why not have a list of shops TO GO TO? This is a great place to find info for all your local sponsors (or perhaps non )! Post up the shop name, type of shop, phone number and name of the person you dealt with (if you can). I will update this list to include shops you provide. Saw this idea on one of the biggest G35 forums and figured we could benefit from having a thread like this. Post up body shops, powdercoaters, wheel repair, etc. as well as sponsors I may have left out.

I'll start:

Full-service:

That doesn't help anybody find good body shops in SoCal. It's not only for sponsors but for shops where sponsors aren't applicable. I waded through eight pages of search results a few days ago trying to find a good body shop in LA.

Nothing happened to my car - it was for someone I know. Thanks for the info though - I'll figure out what shop that is and add it to the list.

Good point. Cunningham Motorsports does that. I changed the category name to reflect that. If we find a shop that only does dynos or tuning I can change the categories.

This So Cal LS1 YellowPages thread will probably get shut down when our western sponsors and other snitches report this.

If you want the low down on all options for So Cal shops you need to PM or ask people who have been around for a while.

There are very few truly qualified individuals and shops in So Cal.

But for the **** of it I'll list a few that are legit that I've seen/been/had work done...
RPM Motorsports in Santa Clarita Good facility, beautiful machine shop setup, nice dyno

RET In Downey(Down the street from me)(Fords only) Great with SVT's

SUCKMYSS Motorsports in Pasadena Best rates, and quality of work I've ever delt with.(Fastest 98-02 Fbody @LA Invasion) All mechanical upgrades/shortblocks/rotating assemblies/suspension tuning/fabrication/etc

Richard@West Coast Cylinder Heads, Reseda, Great guy to talk to reguarding any cylinder head questions/ideas. Good rates and excellant quality on all the work coming out of there. CNC'd 243's, Edelbrocks, All Pros, etc

Heard very good things about Synergy up north and Newtech as well.

Other Options:
STD in south gate has been solid from what I've seen. they've tuned a certian stock bottom end LS1 that runs 9's regularly.

CMS alot of people are happy with there work. Only ls1tech sponsor shop still in existance on the western section so they get a ton of the bussiness out here.

Never delt with APF so I have no comment there.

Haddad Motorsports you'll get the highest dyno numbers in town, with a stock *** car but no comment on their work.

Theres also one in Bakersfeild that parts out cars at firm prices and one in Fresno that exists but I have no feedback on either of these. Can't recall the names of these two

LS1W is another good local guy to hit up for parts

Theres a ecology in Santa Fe springs that sometimes has parts/engines for these cars

I'm sure theres more I left out but I'm about to knock out....

Also I left no contact info because I rather not have this locked up or bitched about. Google is your friend if you need a number use it or get in contact with people on the board.

I'd REALLY like to avoid this getting shut down, so lets try to leave the full service shops to sponsors and leave out other really really small-time operations like SRJ Motorsports (however good they may be... I know SRJMS is great). No offense or anything SRJ... I'd like to give site sponsors their moneys worth.

If we can't have performance shops, then we should at least make this thread about body shops, exhaust work, powedercoating, wheel repair, etc. aka not-sponsor-applicable work.

^^ he added you before you posted it looks like ryne.

LS1W (shane) is a good guy, ive gotten parts from him, so if you need any parts, or need an organ donor car he is the guy to go to

i dont think SRJMS should be on the list though, because rumor is floating around that he just doesnt ask for food and beer for the help, he takes your soul after the job is done LOL
